The network connection between NSC and SMHI will be reconfigured on
2018-10-17 between 12 and 14 CEST.

This is done to make our connection more robust. It will also remove
the need for special names for external SMHI services when accessed
from Bi.

The downtime will affect production systems (Frost, Alvin) as well as
research systems (foremost Bi)

During the downtime window, the network will be down for up to 30
minutes one or more times. Also, as the IP addresses used for the
address translation on the SMHI side will be changed, TCP connections
will not survive this --- you will have to login again when it is
done.

The NSC internet connection is not affected by the downtime, so access
to Frost, Alvin, Bi and Elvis from locations outside of SMHI will not
be affected.

Best Regards,
