[Bi-users] Update: Bi/Accumulus downtime 28-30 March

Dear Bi and Accumulus Users,

> an update about the planned downtime for Bi and Accumulus next week,
> planned for Tuesday 28 March (from 08:00 CEST) - Wednesday 29 March.
> Since we initially planned this, our facilities people have asked for a
> slot to work on transformer/UPSes, and to avoid a separate Bi/Accumulus
> downtime for that, we have slotted that into the schedule on Tuesday
> morning. This *might* mean that we cannot complete all other work by the
> end of Wednesday. In that case, the downtime will extend into Thursday
> 30 March. We will inform you on the Wednesday afternoon about the
> current plans.

We are making good progress but will not be able to finish today, so the
downtime is extended for tomorrow too. We will update you tomorrow.



> Please note:

> - Compute nodes and login nodes will be unavailable during the downtime.
>
> - Accumulus will be unavailable from Tetralith too during the downtime.
>
> - The job queue will be emptied during the downtime due to the Slurm
>   upgrade we will be doing.
>
> - If you want jobs you submit before the downtime to be able to start,
>   remember to adjust the timelimit so they can complete before Tuesday
>   28 March at 08:00 CEST.
>
> - Those of you who will be moved to a new primary group (for example
>   sm_foum instead of sm_foup) will get an individual email about this.
