[Krypton-users] /home on Krypton full and overloaded

Dear Krypton Users,

as you say in Peter Bortas' email yesterday we have scheduled
the switchover to the new /home filesystem for November 18.

Until that can be done, we have to keep the existing /home working.

At the moment, /home is very, very full. Unfortunately, that means that
very little load is needed to put the filesystem beyond reasonable
performance.

Please:

- Refrain from heavy /home file operations in general at this moment, in
  general and on the login node in particular.

- Do your part in trying to free up some space on /home (it makes a lot
  of difference if we are 99% or 95% full there!)

The Krypton login node became unresponsive and had to be restarted.
It is now up again and available for logins.
