Dear Nebula users,

Nebulas current operating system (CentOS 7, which is based on RedHat
Enterprise Linux 7) will not receive any security updates after
2024-06-30. As Nebula is planned to continue operating longer than this,
we need to upgrade the operating system.

Major upcoming change to Nebula
----------------------------------

In the second half of May, NSC will make a major upgrade of the Nebula
operating system, from CentOS 7 to Rocky Linux 9.

During the period leading up to the final upgrade, Nebula will be
split into an upgraded and a non-upgraded part.

Storage (/nobackup, /home) is not affected and will be available from
both parts.

All Nebula users will need to move their work to the Rocky 9 part of
Nebula, but can choose when during the upgrade period to do so. In
order to have enough time to solve any problems, we recommend that you
move sooner rather than later.

For most users, we believe the move will be a quick and simple
operation. You should expect to be able to run your software like
before.

For detailed information on the change and what you need to do, see

If you have any questions regarding the upgrade, or need any help to
do the switch, please contact smhi-support at nsc.liu.se. Reply-to:
for this mail is also set to the support address, so take extra care
if you want to do private replies to this email.

Regards,
