Dear Neolith users,

We have installed a few software updates on Neolith.

Short version:
==============

* Intel compilers version 11.0 and Intel MKL 10.1 is available
* Minor update of Scali MPI is installed
* Kernel and security updates installed on the compute nodes
* Report problems to support at nsc.liu.se

Longer version:
===============
Compilers
---------
A new major version (11.0) of Intel's C/C++ and Fortran compilers is now
available on Neolith. The default is still 10.1.017, so to try the new
versions you need to add the relevant modules before recompiling:

[paran at neolith1 ~]$ module add icc/11.0 ifort/11.0

MKL
---
A new version 10.1 (10.1.0.015) of Intel Math Kernel Library is also
available. As with the compilers you have to add the module and recompile your
applications using -Nmkl

[paran at neolith1 ~]$ module add mkl/10.1.0.015

Scali MPI update
----------------
Scali MPI have been updated from 3.13.7 to 3.13.8. This is a bug fix release
and there is no need to recompile applications.

Compute nodes
-------------
The compute nodes have been updated with the latest CentOS security updates,
including a new kernel version.

If you have feedback, questions or experience problems caused by these changes
then please contact us at support at nsc.liu.se as usual!

Best Regards,
