Dear Neolith users,

On Wednesday November the 24th (2010-11-24) we will shut down Neolith for
planned maintenance.

One of the changes during this service window is a major upgrade of the
resource manager (SLURM), which unfortunately will force us to empty the job
queue.

IMPORTANT: All jobs that remain in the Neolith queue when the cluster is
shut down at 08:00 will be removed, and you will have to resubmit them once
the downtime is over.

The service window is planned for 2010-11-24 08:00 CET to 18:00 CET.

This is a complete stop of the entire Neolith cluster (e.g all compute nodes
will be offline, no jobs will run, all login servers will be unavailable).

As usual, jobs with a walltime that would keep them from finishing before
the start of the service window will not be permitted to start.

Emptying the queue will hopefully be a one-time event, future SLURM upgrades
should be possible to do without emptying the queue.

Do not hesitate to contact support at nsc.liu.se if you have any questions
regarding this.

Kind regards,
