Dear Sigma users,

On December 7th, NSC will make a major upgrade of the Sigma operating
system, from CentOS 7 to Rocky Linux 9.

On December 7th at 08:00 CET, Sigma will be shut down for
maintenance. When Sigma returns, the login node and all compute nodes
will run Rocky Linux 9.

Jobs that cannot finish before 08:00 on the 7th will not be started. All
jobs remaining in the queue at 08:00 will be canceled.

For most users, we believe the move will be a quick and simple
operation. You should expect to be able to run your software like
before.

However, if you want to be sure your jobs will be able to run on Sigma
immediately after the upgrade you can test them in the upgraded part of
Tetralith (if you do not have access to Tetralith that can be arranged)
before December 7th.

Detailed information on the upgrade can be found on
