The file system problem on Neolith, Kappa and Matter is now solved, at least
temporarily.
As far as we can tell, no files were damaged or lost.
All jobs that were running on Neolith, Kappa and Matter tonight (2011-06-21)
at 02:35 CEST failed and should be resubmitted.
The login nodes are now available, you can login and submit jobs again. We
will begin starting queued jobs shortly.
The problem was caused by a routine kernel update on our file servers
yesterday afternoon. The new version introduced a bug that caused the
network interface on our file servers to stop working after a few hours. We
have now reverted to a previous kernel version while we investigate this
further.
As always, please contact support at nsc.liu.se if you have any questions
regarding this.
NSC apologizes for the inconvenience.
