Kappa, Matter and Neolith are now available. As planned, the /nobackup/global filesystem was increased in size. We have no reason to believe that any files on /nobackup/global were affected by the file system problems on /home. Regarding the unplanned file system problems on the /home file system: We have copied the contents of the old /home file system to new disks. Out of 14 million files, there are 155 files that we definitely know have been damaged. We will contact the users who owned the 155 damaged files separately later today or tomorrow. The damaged files have either not been copied to the new /home at all, or have been renamed and given the suffix .MAYBEBAD-20111124 to prevent anyone using them by mistake. We will attempt to restore the damaged files from tape backup and notify the affected users about our progress. IMPORTANT FOR ALL USERS: We cannot guarantee that only 155 files were damaged.
