Major upcoming change to Tetralith
----------------------------------

Starting November 13th, NSC will make a major upgrade of the Tetralith
operating system, from CentOS 7 to Rocky Linux 9.

During an 8 week period (November 13th to January 8th), Tetralith will
be split into an upgraded and a non-upgraded part.

Storage (/proj, /home) is not affected and will be available from both
parts.

All Tetralith users will need to move their work to the Rocky 9 part of
Tetralith, but can choose when during the 8 week period to do so. In
order to have enough time to solve any problems, we recommend that you
move sooner rather than later.

For most users, we believe the move will be a quick and simple
operation. You should expect to be able to run your software like
before.

For detailed information on the change and what you need to do, see
https://www.nsc.liu.se/support/systems/tetralith-os-upgrade/.

If you have any questions regarding the upgrade, please contact
support at nsc.liu.se.

Tetralith login node downtime
-----------------------------

In order to free up a login node for the upgraded part of Tetralith, the
login node “tetralith2” will be taken offline on October 30th at 08:00
to be upgraded.

Logged-in users will be logged out. Running and queued jobs are not
affected.

You can still continue using Tetralith normally by logging into
tetralith.nsc.liu.se.

>From this point only half the login node capacity will be available, so
please take extra care not to run resource-intensive things on the
remaining login node (as described on
https://www.nsc.liu.se/support/running-applications/)
