Dear Tornado Users,

The login node, a1 and a2 of Tornado will be rebooted today at 12:00. This
is in part due to an Out-Of-Memory event yesterday on tornado where a user
application gobbled up the available memory and was subsequently killed,
but also because a security fix is out which requires a reboot.

Please be aware that doing memory consuming work on the login node affects a
lot of people and should be carried out on a node of the cluster or the two
analysis nodes a1 and a2, which you reach via ssh from the login node.
Reserving a single node for interactive work can be done using the command:
$ qsub -I -l walltime=08:00:00,nodes=1:ppn=2

This will reserve a node for 8 hours, adjust as you seem fit, and drop you
in a shell on that node. For further details consult the User Guide at URL
http://www.nsc.liu.se/systems/cluster/tornado/

Best regards,
Johan Raber
