Dear Monolith users,
The system maintenance is finished for this time and Monolith is again fully
operational.
This has been done:
1/ We have changed to a Linux kernel that makes at least
one of our important categories of parallel applications run much
faster.
2/ The default Intel Fortran compiler (ifc) is now version 7.1.
Earlier it was version 6.0.
3/ Our RAID disk systems have been updated with a new firmware to make
them handle disk problems better. Some other minor changes have been
done to get better read/write throughput.
4/ The Scali network programs is updated to fix some bugs and the
Scali network itself has been tested to see if we can get it to
work even better than today.
As always, please mail your questions and comments to <support at nsc.liu.se>.
Best regards,
