Dear Triolith user,

Triolith is now available for pilot testing!

User accounts for everyone who has so far applied to be a pilot tester will
be created in a few minutes. Temporary passwords will be sent out via
email, and you will have to login and set a permanent password within 7
days, just as for other NSC systems.

Please read the User Guide: http://www.nsc.liu.se/systems/triolith/ This is
important! Triolith differs from older systems in some areas, e.g node
sharing.

Initially, 120 nodes will be available. All of these are "thin" nodes with
32GB RAM. The "fat" nodes (128GB) RAM will probably be available next week.

The maximum wall time is 7 days (but please note that NSC reserves the
right to kill running jobs if needed to to required tests or fix problems).

Next Monday at 11:00 we will have a short service stop. The 120 nodes now
available for pilot testing will be moved to acceptance testing, and the
nodes currently undergoing acceptance testing (including the fat nodes)
will become available for pilot testing. Due to this, no jobs can run
between 11:00 and 12:00 on Monday the 9th. In practice, this means that it
will be difficult to start long jobs this week (jobs that cannot end before
Monday 11:00 will not start until after Monday 12:00).

In order to avoid having the first pilot tester who logs in hog the entire
system for 7 days, we have created a few reservations in order to let
everyone have a chance to get their first batch of jobs started. The
visible effect of this is that some nodes will only be able to run short
jobs for the first few days.

Have fun! :)
