[Gimle-users] SMHI IDL license server change

Dear Gimle and Vagn users,

if you have not been using IDL on Gimle/Vagn, you may stop reading this
email now.



SMHI is consolidating license servers. As part of this, we have been
asked to change the license server that IDL on Gimle/Vagn uses.

This has been done. Unfortunately, the old information is cached on a
line in your ~/.flexlmrc file, so you need to delete any line there that
refers to "IDL_LMGRD_LICENSE_FILE". When that is done, you may proceed
in the usual manner:

  [kent at gimle ~]$ module add idl
  [kent at gimle ~]$ idl
  IDL Version 7.0 (linux x86_64 m64). (c) 2007, ITT Visual Information Solutions
  Installation number: 404015.
  Licensed for use by: Swedish Meteorological and Hydr
  
  IDL> 

Note! If you see "404712" instead of "404015" above, you are still using
the old license server.
